You are exactly what you feed on and that is why you may need to be deliberate in fixing your mind on what’s positive. Someone may ask, positives like what? Anything that is good and makes you feel great is it. I know it may be tough to have it flood your mind considering the worrisome environment we find ourselves lately in this side of eternity. But do you know that anytime you find yourself pondering over the negatives,be sure that the devil subtly comes in to steal something valuable from you.Besides, you cannot expect to receive something worthwhile from heaven when your mind is polluted.
The Devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy but I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly. -John 10:10
Few days ago while I was attending to some important project on my desk, I began to think of ugly situations.Somehow,it took the better part of me for a good quality time and I had begun to settle in to its manipulations. With no other thing to think of. I had been caught in the deadly trap and was unable to achieve much for the day. The Power of Negative thinking at work.
Negative vibes does not add up to anything good in our lives and God is not the architect of such. He expects us to always nurse beautiful things so that it can in turn have a positive impact in our overall wellbeing. In fact our outward appearance and demeanour is a reflection of what runs through our mind. If a person is calm, gentle and considerate in his behavior towards another fellow, it is a clear indication that such person has his mind flooded with God’s word and the HolySpirit his guardian. Such person thinks before he acts because he is no longer operating by himself but by the directives of the Holy Spirit.
If you ever find yourself tending towards the negatives. Close your eyes, take a deep breathe and imagine yourself doing something beautiful while you mutter kind words. When you open your eyes, you will experience a better feeling than before. For the rest of the day,try to concentrate on what will give you positive energy. If it’s the assignment on your desk, the paycheck you just received, the laughter your children or spouse gave you a day before, the message you received in church or the funny joke a friend sent you on your mobile. Just pick on any one while you still focus on what’s ahead of you for the day. If you believe you can, then you will.
Philippians: 4. 8. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
