It’s Your Personal Responsibility

I have discovered that being responsible generates self-esteem. This world needs more participants and not more passengers. Active responsible people get things done. They are not dependent on society to look after them nor do they expect handouts. Here’s a big question: Consider it carefully and be honest; Are you just hoping it will all work out? Maybe you are waiting for someone to bring your ship in. Perhaps,if you are like a lot of people, you failed to send your ship out in the first place.

Sir Winston Churchill,Prime Minister, and author said, “The price of greatness is responsibility.”

Personal responsibility is being able to take care of one’s well-being without expect or blaming others to do it for you.By working on your own character and skill development rather than blaming others for situations and circumstances, you are definitely taking personal responsibility. It moves from the inward to the outward.

You must begin to take responsibility for your thoughts, choices, and reactions. Then can you be responsible for the circumstances you create in your world.

You can control your ability to design your life and your philosophies. A philosophy of personal responsibility allows you to live from an inner core of integrity bringing a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.

A year ago,it dawned on me that if I do not take personal responsibility for my life,I may end up a miserable woman.I had donned the victim cap and expected everyone that came my way to pat me on the back and throw pity party for me.This action, however, made me to be misunderstood and also vulnerable. I struggled with this reality for some time but I had no peace within. A day came and I told myself it’s time to quit the pettiness and take action. No one is going to help me anyway.

Sometimes, taking personal responsibility may mean shifting the focus away from you and becoming aware that other lives depend on you. Having the intention to be responsible is enough, your actions need to come through.

We live in a culture that overvalues talent and undervalues responsibility. What turned kids into productive citizens and troublemakers into leaders? Responsibility!

When people respond to a call for responsibility by giving their best, good things happen.

Arthur Pine, author of Your Family Business said, “People are not born optimists or pessimist, its the attitude they assume that forms their outlook.” You are the one who makes that decision and each time you make a responsible decision, you become a more responsible person. Successful people take actions for their attitude. They show response-ability ,the ability to choose a correct response no matter what situation they face. Responsibility is always a choice and only you can make it. If being responsible has not been one of your strenghts, then start small. You cannot start from any place than where you are .

Television Host, Oprah Winfrey once said, “My philosophy is that, not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.”

If you desire succes, make responsibility your choice

If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your troubles, you wouldn’t sit for a moment -Theodore Roosevelt
